Is a sleep mask attached to earmuffs worth $60? Probably not. However, this is the best thing I've found so far for sleeping. I've tried every type of earplug which are too uncomfortable for me. I've tried those headbands with speakers in them to stream white noise, but those don't block outside noise, and they tend to start yelling "BATTERY LOW" in the middle of the night. Headphones with active noise cancellation worked well, but weren't the most comfortable as the headband would adjust and shift throughout the night. I also had to position my pillow in a specific way because I'm a side sleeper. They also needed to be replaced periodically due to wear, and that's just a lot of e-waste for something I'm only using to sleep.
The Hibermate is so comfortable by comparison! I barely even notice it, even on my side. I'm not sure about these other users who said it can't be used on your side. Maybe they're using cheap pillows. The eyemask is great too. Not a bit of light gets through, which will be great in the summer when the sun is up at 5a.
The only knock is it could stand to have a little more noise blocking ability. They don't work as well as the ANC in that regard, but they still muffle surrounding noise to the point it's not a disturbance. A Hibermate mask with active noise cancellation only would be a great option!
Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. The mask is washable, and when the earmuffs become worn the company sells fairly inexpensive replacements. I anticipate I'll be using this for a long time.
