I'm giving a four-star review primarily for the service and most of the product, but with a few caveats that I'll elaborate on.
First is that, at first, I received a defect unit, with the sole defection being that the adjustment band was too short. Chris was very helpful with the response, however, and not only sent a replacement, but was fine with me keeping the, as he said, unmarketable product for spare parts -- customer-friendly, to say the least.
A continued issue for me is that I have a bit of an odd nose-shape, and this, with the Hibermate and all other masks I've tried so far, makes it difficult to get the light filtered out appropriately. That is, however, a relatively unique problem for me, and I don't want to disparage the product for most other people because of this, even if it will mean that I will be looking for other solutions in the future.
What I'm most impressed by is Chris' service. Mistakes happen, but what truly matters in my eyes is how the company reacts to this, which in this case was stellar.
This, however, does not prevent me checking my options, and if I were to ask what would close possible openings for other competitors to get my sale, other than the nose-issue, I would say that the shipment location of the mask as well as insufficient information on sourcing (environmental and human rights matters) is something that would cause me to buy an alternative product boasting positive influences on these matters.
I only narrowly justified buying a mask because most items are made overseas anyway and I should prioritize swaying material-heavy companies with bad social responsibility records, as opposed to smaller companies that, while they have a stellar product, do not take a lot of material and labor costs relative to, say, a smartphone's rare minerals, or a washing machine's bulk. My sleep was obviously important enough to me to try healing.
In short, there are things to improve on, but I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. Those with worries relating to product replacement, quality and service will find that the worries are unfounded, at least in my experience.
